Running a charter school is a complex, multi-million dollar, highly regulated operation. As a member of a charter school’s Board of Directors (BOD), you have a legal and ethical responsibility to ensure financial solvency and the compliance of both business operations and academic programs.

Since the vast majority of school board members are volunteers with full-time jobs, taking on detailed oversight of such an intricate and regulated entity can be a daunting task.

This is where TES can help. Our full-service charter management package includes everything your school needs to operate within state, federal, and local regulations while making the goals of your community a reality.

Our team works together to support all areas of business operations, finance, and academics. Working in tandem with your school leader, we customize our services based on the needs of your individual school community.

Different Than Traditional CMOs

TES set out to disrupt the charter school management model by providing services customized to meet the needs of individual school communities.

Unlike traditional CMOs (Charter Management Organizations), TES works in tandem with school leaders to understand your community's unique needs and goals.

We approach charter management through servant leadership, not a dictatorship. Our role is to provide all stakeholders (board members, school leaders, educators, and community members) with the tools and resources they need to be successful.

At TES, everything we do starts with your community. We support you in selecting vendors and curricula that fit your needs, we support policy development that helps your school function smoothly, and we act as a strategic thought partner and problem solver to address barriers and work towards your goals.

As illustrated in the graphic at the top of the page, the Board of Directors remains the ultimate oversight for their charter school. As a board member, you still hold the same fiduciary responsibility to the school. However, with TES as your Charter Management partner, you can rest assured knowing that TES is actively monitoring compliance, implementing industry-standard best practices, and meeting the terms and conditions of your charter. You will receive monthly reports on the status of various operations and academic items and remain an active participant in setting the direction of the school.

You may also note in the above graphic that TES centers its support services on the school leader and thus, the school community. At TES, we believe school leaders are the experts in their community and, as professional educators, should be the primary directors of all day-to-day operations. The TES servant leadership model focuses on supporting these leaders, whether they are Principals, Executive Directors, or Deans - we work together to support their vision.
